Excess Carrier

1. Excess Carrier Generation (1) Optical Absorption 만약 photon의 에너지가 band gap energy보다 크다면, electron은 conduction band로 들뜨게 된다.

이렇게 들뜬 electron은 scattering에 의해 에너지를 잃게 되고, 결국 valence band의 hole과 recombination이 일어나게 된다. (2) Injection 말 그대로 excess carrier를 추가로 더해준 경우이다. 2. Excess Carrier Recombination (1) Direct Recombination (Radiative Recombination) 상술했듯, excited electron이 scattering에 의해 에너지를 잃다가, 결국 photon을 방출하며 valence band에 있는 hole과 recombination이 일어난다.
