Forty-three part-time contract workers on the YouTube Music team were given layoff notices last Friday. They had been fighting for better pay and benefits for a year.
The fired workers were employed by both Google and its subcontractor Cognizant. Google is claiming that it is not responsible for the layoffs and that Cognizant is.
