Generally, when we talk about cost, it refers to the amount of money, time, effort, or various resources that need to be spent to acquire something or to perform an activity. However, in economics, the term cost often implies opportunity cost.

I remember the first quiz in my Economics 101 class during my freshman year of college. "A bowl of Jajangmyeon costs 5,000 won, and a bowl of Jjamppong costs 7,000 won.
