what is physical design

physical design이란 netlist(.v 파일을) GDSII(layout) 형태로 변환한 cell들의 논리적 연결성을 physical 연결성으로 변환하는것을 말합니다. physical design 중에 모든 design component는 기하학적 표현으로 인스턴스화 됩니다. 모양과 크기가 고정된 모든 all macros, cells, gates, transistors, etc 는 공간적 위치에 할당되고, metal layer에 적절하게 연결합니다. physical design은 회로의 circuit performance, area, reliability, power, and manufacturing yield 에 바로 영향을 줍니다.
