맥스웰 보이코프 Maxwell T. Boykoff와 줄스 보이코프Jules Boykoff 형제는 2004년 발표한 논문, 「Balance as bias: global warming andthe US prestige press」에서 기후변화 보도 분석을 통해 정보편향이라는 개념을 제시했다.
