He became discouraged because he had sent in an application to a company he always wanted to work for. Sadly, they turned down his application.
He heaved a heavy sigh of frustration. 친구랑 전화로 통화를 했어요.
낙담해 있더라고요. 일하기 원했던 회사에 지원서를 냈는데 슬프게도 떨어졌거든요.
땅이 꺼져라 한숨을 쉬었어요. He kept beating himself up about it, so I tried to encourage him by saying that "You know, it's just a phase and you'll eventually get there".
He didn't stop blaming himself....
